My future as a midwife

In my future as midwife, I want have specialty in public health, because I love share with the people in all its integrity, not only the part biologic; also its psychology and its social environment.

I would like to work in a public health care clinic, because I would like work with the people, and help in all their life. I want have projects with them, and educate them, all this for that they have a best quality of life.

And in this area, I will have a direct contact with the woman in all her life, and I be able to share with she, her process more important as woman, in the adolescence, during pregnancy, after and before the pregnancy, in the menopause, and in all her life.

I would like to continue with my studies, I want have some magister, but in the same topic, because the public health is an area very important in the actuality, and is necessary that I have the improvement for be able to give the attention of quality.

I hope comply all my dreams, and in the future I could say that this career was the best decision I could take in my life.

In this moment, I am going to talk about my decision to study obstetrics and why I think it is the right career for me.

Obstetrics and puericulture was my first option when I finish my studies at school, and when was in the school I decided to study this career, I attended two exhibitions about the "health professions", in this moment I said "this is my future" i want be midwife all my life, when I received the news that I had been selected for study obstetrics in the University of Chile, I was very happy, for I could study what I wanted and in the university that I wanted.

I chose study this career because is a profession that have much contact with the people, with the women, with the babies, and this is important to my, to grow as person in my life, because give me the possibility to help, and share with the woman the process more important of her life, the pregnancy and birth their children. I am happy of study obstetrics.

The subject that had an impact for my in the first year was "integration with professional performance I" in this subject I went to two hospital, and in one of this, I had share with a women postpartum and her baby, and this experiences was wonderful, and in that moment I though .... Chose the best profession!...

I love obstetrics, I love my future as midwife, and I hope that all my project as midwife can be comply.....
